TOD M. LEAVEN — Civil Attorney, North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services; N.C. JOLT Editor-in-Chief, 2009-2010
Prior to law school, Tod was a counterintelligence agent and crew chief in the United States Army for six years and is a veteran of both the Kosovo War and the war in Iraq. After an honorable discharge, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a B.S. in Biology in 2006. He graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law with a J.D. in 2010. While in law school, he was the Editor in Chief of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology, Volume 11. He is currently a staff attorney at North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services, a non-profit organization providing legal assistance to inmates in the North Carolina Department of Correction ranging from advice about prisoner’s legal rights to representation in litigation in state and federal court.
