1) Timothy Holbrook
Timothy Holbrook is a Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law, where he specializes in Patent Law, International Patent Law, Patent Litigation, Trademark Law and Property. Prior to teaching Professor Holbrook practiced patent law in both the United States and abroad. Professor Holbrook also was a founder of the Atlanta Intellectual Property Inn of Court.
2) Ethan Berghoff
Mr. Berghoff is a partner at the Chicago office Baker & McKenzie LLP. Mr. Berghoff represents clients both international and domestic clients in arbitration and litigation. Mr. Berghoff has appeared before arbitration panels in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
3) Peter “Bo” Rutledge
Peter Rutledge is a Professor of Law at the University of Georgia, where he teaches courses relating to International Litigation, International Arbitration, International Business Transactions and Civil Procedure. Professor Rutledge is currently serving as a member of the American Arbitration Association's delegation to the UNCITRAL Working Group on Arbitration.
4) Anthony Biller
Anthony Biller is a Member of Coats + Bennett PLLC in Cary where he is a full time intellectual property litigator. Mr. Biller’s practice areas include: patent litigation, trademarks, trademark litigation, copyrights, copyrights litigation, Tradesecret Litigation, I.P. Licensing, and general I.P. litigation. In addition, Mr. Biller is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the Alliance Defense Fund’s National Litigation Honor Corps.
5) Mary U. Musacchia (MODERATOR)
Ms. Musacchia is the Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer for the Center for Board Excellence as well as “of Counsel” with Whitmeyer Tuffin, PLLC. In addition, Ms. Musacchia is a member of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology Advisory Board.

1) Marshall Leaffer
Marshall Leaffer is a Distinguished Scholar in Intellectual Property Law and University Fellow at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Professor Leaffer teaches courses in Intellectual Property, Copyright Law, Patent Law and Trademark and Unfair Competition Law and is currently focusing his research efforts towards the impact of intellectual property law in a global market. Professor Leaffer is a Member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property.
2) Jay Kesan
Jay Kesan is a Professor of Law at the University of Illinois School of Law, where he is a H. Ross & Helen Workman Research Scholar and the Director of the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Program. Professor Kesan’s research interests include intellectual property, entrepreneurship, Internet law/regulation, digital government and agricultural biotechnology law. Professor Kesan regularly makes appearances on WILL Illinois Public Radio show titled “Legal Issues in the News.” Professor Kesan also serves as faculty editor-in-chief of the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy.
3) Trevor Schmidt
Trevor Schmidt is an Associate at the Triangle office of Moore & Van Allen PLLC. Mr. Schmidt practices areas include intellectual property, patent law, and Trademark and Copyright Law. Mr. Schmidt is a member of the American Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
4) Deborah Gerhardt (MODERATOR)
Deborah Gerhardt is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she teaches Trademark Law, Copyright Law, and Contracts. Professor Gerhardt’s areas of academic interest include copyright, trademark and plagiarism. Professor Gerhardt is on the Steering Committee and chairs the Education Subcommittee for NC LEAP.
